Russia set to reanimate trilateral economic, infrastructural projects with two Koreas - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - Moscow is set to resume trilateral projects with two Koreas, and Pyongyang and Seoul feel positive about the prospect of such interaction, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told Interfax.

"We are set to reanimate the effort towards trilateral cooperation between Russia, North Korea, and South Korea in the inter-Korean economic and infrastructural projects, which have been mentioned in the Panmunjom Declaration," Morgulov said.

"Judging by the messages coming from both Koreas, Pyongyang and Seoul feel positive about the prospect of such cooperation," he said.

The Russian Minister for the Far East Development and Co-chair of the Russian-North Korean Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Alexander Galushka, said last week that North Korea had confirmed the readiness to receive a South Korean delegation for discussing the Khasan-Rajin project involving Russia.

For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the North Korean counterpart in Moscow that Russia was prepared to promote trilateral economic projects with two Koreas.
