MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - The United States' possible withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would create a serious situation, and Russian President Vladimir Putin will address this issue, Kremlin presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
"The stance of the Russian president [on the JCPOA] is absolutely transparent, and you are well aware of it. Besides, the stance fully coincides with the viewpoint of European leaders as far as strategy and framework; they do not want this fundamental document to be dismantled, either," Peskov said.
As to what Moscow would do if the United States quits the deal, Peskov said, "I cannot tell you anything for now. Clearly, that would be an extremely serious situation. The issue will be considered in Moscow, and the president, who shapes the state's foreign policy in accordance with the Constitution, will be making decisions."
