Syrian air defenses shot down more than half of 70 missiles fired by Israel - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Syrian air defense systems shot down more than half of the nearly 70 missiles launched by the Israeli army against the territory of Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The attack involved 28 F-15 and F-16 Israeli jets, which fired around 60 air-to-surface missiles against different districts in Syria. In addition to that, more than ten surface-to-surface missiles were fired from the direction of Israel," the ministry said on Thursday.

"While repelling the Israeli attack, Syria's air defense units shot down more than one half of these missiles," it said.
