MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - The remaining signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program should take steps to preserve it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We attached significance to the situation following the U.S.' statement on its withdrawal from the JCPOA on the Iranian nuclear program. We believe it is important for the rest of the signatories to this plan to promptly analyze the situation, hold the necessary consultations, and work out steps that would help preserve this crucial document," Lavrov said at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in Moscow on Thursday.
"We agreed to have contacts on the matter with our German counterparts," Lavrov said.
