Iran to remain party to JCPOA, if other parties could ensure Tehran's interests - Iranian ambassador to Russia

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Tehran will not withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), if other parties to the Iran deal are able to ensure its interests, but time for negotiations is limited, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said.

"If its interests as part of the JCPOA are ensured, if other parties are able to ensure its interests, Iran will remain a party to the JCPOA," Sanaei told reporters on Tuesday.

He recalled that Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has been holding negotiations in the countries participating in the deal in the past few days.

"We will not hold ceaseless negotiations; there is certain time to address the issue whether Iran's interests as part of the JCPOA are ensured. The emphasis on this issue was placed during a meeting of our foreign ministers [Zarif and Sergei Lavrov] yesterday," he said.
