BAKU. May 16 (Interfax) - The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are hoping to meet with the new Armenian leadership next month, the co-chairs said in a statement after they met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Paris on Tuesday.
"The Minister and Co-Chairs discussed modalities for moving the peace process forward. Minister Mammadyarov expressed Azerbaijan's readiness to resume active negotiations as soon as possible. The Co-Chairs expect to meet with the new Armenian leadership in June," the statement said.
Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk said at the meeting that the situation on the contact zone in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone was "relatively stable."
The Armenian parliament elected Elk opposition party leader Nikol Pashinyan prime minister on May 8 after several weeks of mass protests.
