KYIV. May 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the application and cancellation of sanctions against individuals and companies.
"The decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 2, 2018 'On the Application and Cancellation of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)' is enacted," Poroshenko said in the decree posted on the presidential website early on Friday.
This decree has entered into force.
According to the NSDC decision, sanctions are to be applied to private individuals in accordance with Annex 1 and to legal entities in accordance with Annex 2.
However, the relevant annexes containing lists of private individuals and legal entities against which the sanctions are to be imposed were not available on the presidential site when the decree was published.
On May 2, the National Security and Defense Council introduced sanctions against legal entities and individuals connected with "Russian aggression against Ukraine," as well as against persons against whom the U.S. and the EU governments have made relevant decisions.
