ZAAFARAN (Syria). May 21 (Interfax) - Servicemen of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria and the Syrian government forces have found arms depots and illegal bomb laboratories in eastern areas of the Homs province freed from militants.
The depots are storing weapons made in NATO member countries. Syrian sappers are clearing populated localities of mines.
"This is an observation-and-control post of the al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in Russia) in Zaafaran in the Homs province. You can see lots of gas masks and foreign-made weapons, among them Tow-2 anti-tank missile systems," Andrei Nekipelov of the Russian center for reconciliation told reporters.
The Russian center has helped liberate several towns in the Homs province from militants. The Syrian government took control of those towns.
