KYIV. May 21 (Interfax) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel informed Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko of outcomes of her recent negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
"Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has had a telephone conversation with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The federal chancellor informed the Ukrainian head of state of the outcomes of her recent negotiations with the Russian president in Sochi," the Ukrainian presidential press service said.
Poroshenko and Merkel discussed the situation in Donbas and joint efforts toward the implementation of the Minsk Agreements and security aspects associated with the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The two reached an agreement "to maintain close dialogue at the bilateral level," the press service said.
Merkel and Putin met for negotiations in Sochi on May 18.
