Minsk favors cooperation between NATO, CSTO - Belarusian FM

MINSK. May 23 (Interfax) - It is necessary to establish a dialogue between NATO and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) rather than create imaginary enemies, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.

"The establishment of a dialogue between military alliances, in particular between NATO and the CSTO, would facilitate a decrease of tension on the continent," Makei said at the Minsk Dialogue Forum on Wednesday.

Other alliances and other tools of ensuring security simply do not exist today, "and if they cannot be changed, one must work with what one has instead of creating imaginary enemies," Makei said.
