Kazakhstan interested in virtually entire range of Russian combat equipment

ASTANA. May 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Kazakh Armed Forces need planes, helicopters, ships, and other Russian-made combat equipment, Kazakh Defense Minister Saken Zhasuzakov said.

"Today we have very serious intentions to acquire virtually the entire line of Russian-made weapons and military equipment, from devices to planes, helicopters, and ships. The range is broad," Zhasuzakov told reporters on Thursday after visiting the Russian display at the KADEX 2018 exhibit in Astana.

All these weapons should be operationally compatible with the equipment already possessed by the Kazakh army, the minister said.

"Therefore, we are giving priority attention to military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation," Zhasuzakov said.
