HARASTA AL-BASAL (Eastern Ghouta, Syria). May 25 (Interfax) - The Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria has conducted another humanitarian operation: seven tonnes of food were distributed in the Harasta al-Basal neighborhood of Eastern Ghouta, the center's representative Sergei Bikishev told reporters.
"The humanitarian operation was accomplished in collaboration with a fund of the Chechen republic... About seven tonnes of food packages were distributed," Bikishev said.
This is the sixth humanitarian operation held in the enclave freed from illegal armed units, he said.
The Russian center for reconciliation helped liberate the Eastern Ghouta suburb of Damascus, the Eastern Qalamoun area north of Damascus, and southern districts of the Syrian capital.
