Russian military police set up observation posts in some Syrian localities - Reconciliation Center

DAMASCUS (Syria). May 25 (Interfax) - Russian military police units in Syria have set up observation posts in Al-Rastan, Tal-Biseh, and Herbet Jebbet to crack down on unlawful actions there, Maj. Gen. Yury Yevtushenko, head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"Russian military police units have set up observation posts in the populated localities of Al-Rastan, Tal-Biseh, and Herbet Jebbet in order to suppress provocations and unlawful actions there," he said.

The center's priorities in Syria include creating conditions for the improvement of the humanitarian situation, providing medical aid to the population, and meeting the basic needs of Syrian citizens.

"As many as 200 food kits and fresh bread were distributed as part of charity actions in the populated localities of Berlehin and Tel Ajar in the Aleppo governorate. The humanitarian cargo [delivered there] weighed a total of two tonnes," Yevtushenko said.
