DONETSK/KYIV. May 28 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has seen 16 ceasefire breaches by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours, the DPR representative to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) told reporters on Monday.
"The Ukrainian army breached the truce 16 times over the day. The army shelled the following areas and populated localities: Horlivka (Zaitseve Yuzhne, Ozeryanivka, and Shyroka Balka), Donetsk (Spartak), Dokuchayevsk, and Bezmenne (Kominternove, Leninske, and Oktyabr)," the representative said.
Two homes were destroyed in a Ukrainian army attack on Dokuchayevsk on Sunday, he said.
In turn, the press center of the Ukrainian Joint Forces in Donbas reported 22 militia attacks, including those involving heavy weapons, and the injury of two Ukrainian servicemen over the day.
Hostilities continued in the vicinity of Svitlodarsk, Zaitseve, and Novhorodske in the Horlivka area. Fighting was on near the Butovka mine, Krasnohorivka, and Mariinka in the Donetsk area, the press center said on Facebook.
Tensions escalated near Pavlopil, Vodyane, and Shyrokyne in the Mariupol area, it said.
"The enemy suffered casualties in a brief engagement near Pavlopil at about 7 p.m. yesterday. According to the updated information, three occupants were killed and three were injured. The fate of one serviceman of the Joint Forces is unknown. Circumstances of the serviceman's disappearance are being studied, and measures are being taken to find him," the press service said.
Two Ukrainian servicemen were injured in the hostilities over the day. They were taken to a hospital, the press center said.
The Ukrainian army has had no casualties since midnight, it said.
