CHISINAU. May 29 (Interfax) - Transdniestrian settlement talks will be held in Rome on May 29 and 30 in the 5+2 format, a source in the OSCE Mission to Moldova told Interfax.
The sides will give a press conference on May 30.
The talks will be chaired by the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transdniestrian Settlement Process, Franco Frattini, and involve the chief negotiators of Chisinau and Tiraspol: Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic and Transdniestrian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev. Representatives of the intermediaries - the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Michael Scanlan, Russian Ambassador at Large Sergei Gubarev, and Ukrainian Special Representative Viktor Kryzhanovsky - will also participate, in addition to observers from the United States and the European Union.
The sides will discuss the implementation of six agreements signed between November 2017 and April 2018, set deadlines for achieving the remaining priorities of their eight-point plan, and agree on new primary objectives of the settlement process, the mission said.
