KYIV. June 6 (Interfax) - Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened a criminal investigation into the disclosure of pretrial investigation information over the publication in the media of names on the list of 47 journalists and bloggers who the Ukrainian authorities believe may become potential victims of the Russian special services.
Law enforcement officials have found that one online media outlet had published a list of persons whose data are contained in the materials of previously opened criminal cases, the SBU press service said.
"The report contains the names of Ukrainian citizens and citizens of foreign countries who were expected to be physically eliminated as a result of terrorist attacks on the territory of our country. Relevant data was not provided for disclosure to anyone, including the author of the report of the said online media outlet by the pretrial investigation body or the main procedural official," the report said.
The online media publication Strana.UA earlier published a list of 47 journalists and bloggers who allegedly could have become victims of the Russian special services, along with journalist Arkady Babchenko, whose "assassination" was staged by the Ukrainian special services on May 29.
