Putin urges Russians to address challenges facing Russia, calls it guarantee of inviolability of the nation's sovereignty

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on all Russians to engage in addressing challenges facing their country and emphasized that such actions guarantee Russia's sovereignty.

"Today proactive love for Russia, responsibility for it, everyone's readiness to take part in pursuing national goals and accomplishing everyday tasks, which is no less important, are a guarantee of the permanence of our state's sovereignty and a reliable basis for an effective protection of the national interest," Putin said at the reception in the Kremlin on the Day of Russia on Tuesday.

Russia has experienced more than its fair share of 'critical stages and severe ordeals', Putin remarked.

"But our multi-ethnic people would overcome all kinds of difficulties with dignity and pride. Devotion to the fatherland has been and always will be the basis, the backbone of the people's unity and fortitude," Putin said.
