MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Dialogue between North Korea and the United States is useful but Kim Jong Un should not forget about the sad experience of the leaders of Libya, Iraq, and the former Yugoslavia who also engaged in negotiations with the Americans, Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said at a press conference at Interfax on Friday.
"I do not trust the U.S. policy; a single word they say, all they understand is power in the broad meaning of this word: the power of brain, intellect, and politics. Yet Kim Jong Un has conducted his line correctly and achieved results," Zyuganov said.
A number of leaders, Muammar Qaddafi, Saddam Hussein, and Slobodan Milosevic, "held negotiations with the United States but their lives had a tragic ending," he said.
The dialogue that has started between the United States and North Korea "has moved aside regional tensions," he said.
"Further progress in Pyongyang-Washington relations should be promoted as much as possible," Zyuganov said.
