MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have discussed Syria, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and the schedule of upcoming contacts for the near future in a telephone conversation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The parties focused on the Syrian settlement on the basis of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2254, as well as an objective of consolidating efforts to resolve the Korean Peninsula's issues," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
"Lavrov and Pompeo also discussed some aspects of bilateral relations, including the schedule of political contacts between Russia and the United States for the near future," it said.
The telephone conversation took place at the U.S.' initiative, the Foreign Ministry said.
