Mines, roadside bombs, explosive devices defused in Yarmouk in Damascus outskirts - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Sappers examined 30 buildings in the area of the former Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk on the outskirts of Damascus in Syria in the past day, Maj. Gen. Alexei Tsygankov, deputy commander of the Russian Armed Forces' group in Syria, said at a press briefing on Monday.

"Four mines, seven roadside bombs and eight improvised explosive devices were found and defused," he said.

"The Syrian army's sapper units trained by Russian specialists are successfully working" to ensure the security of the population and socioeconomic infrastructure, he said.

The joint Iranian-Russian-Turkish Coordination Center "continued to record breaches of the cessation of hostilities committed by illegal armed units in the governorates of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Daraa in the past 24 hours," he said.
