S. Korean president's visit to Russia to address economic cooperation, situation in Korean Peninsula - Russian diplomat

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - South Korean President Moon Jae-in's upcoming visit to Russia will address the situation in the Korean Peninsula and aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said on Tuesday.

"This is the South Korean president's state visit, and therefore the parties will discuss the entire set of issues, primarily those concerning bilateral relations," Morgulov said on the sidelines of the Valdai Discussion Club.

Asked by journalists to clarify whether the situation in the Korean Peninsula would be discussed during the visit, Morgulov replied, "Sure, this will be discussed as well."

The parties will also discuss economic cooperation between Russia and South Korea, considering that the latter is Russia's "second trade partner in Asia," he said.
