Assad: Talks with U.S. make no sense right now

MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - Negotiating with the United States makes no sense for Syria, as such negotiations have never produced results, according to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Dialogue, communication, and negotiations with opponents, and not only with opponents, can be productive, but there have not been results since Syria's first negotiations with the U.S. in 1974, Assad said in an interview with NTV host Irada Zeinalova, an excerpt of which is available on the TV company's website.
