Russian Foreign Ministry urges British police to steer clear of political games around latest chemical incidents (Part 2)

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Moscow has urged British police to conduct a non-politicized investigation of the chemical incidents in Salisbury and Amesbury and has wished swift recovery to the victims.

"We are sincerely worried about the victims, who - we have been told - are four people now, including two Russian citizens, and we wish them a swift recovery," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.

Moscow urges "British law enforcement authorities not to be leashed by dirty political games started by certain forces in London, and to finally begin to cooperate with Russian law enforcement authorities in the investigation, given that this also involves Russian citizens," Zakharova said.

"We are urging the government of Theresa May to stop with the intriguing and games with toxic chemicals and to stop obstructing a joint investigation of what happened to Russian citizens on British soil," Zakharova said.

"Whatever Theresa May's government did, it and its representatives will have to apologize for both to Russia and to international community," she said.
