MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Russia will do all it can to preserve the Iran nuclear deal and protect its economic cooperation with Iran from exterritorial sanctions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing in Moscow on Thursday.
"For our part, we reaffirm the Russian Federation's preparedness to fulfill its obligations as long as the other signatories do so, and we will undertake every effort to preserve the JCPOA and maintain its stability," Zakharova said.
"We intend to continue the development of trade and economic interaction with Iran. We will protect our cooperation with Iran from effects of exterritorial sanctions, and we have the necessary mechanisms for that," she said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in a ministerial meeting on the JCPOA in Vienna on July 6, she said.
"Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in a joint ministerial session of the JCPOA Joint Commission with the coordination by the high representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy in Vienna tomorrow, on July 6," she said.
"The minister plans bilateral meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of this event," Zakharova said.
