PM, 1st president of Armenia discuss Karabakh settlement

YEREVAN. July 17 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the first President of the republic, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who has ruled the republic in 1991-1998, have discussed the internal political situation and Karabakh settlement.

The meeting took place at Pashinyan's house in the evening last Monday, the government press service reported.

"The first president spelled out his position on the pathways of tackling a number of challenges, which Armenia is facing. The issues related to foreign policy and Karabakh settlement were discussed. The meeting took place on Ter-Petrosyan's initiative," the government said.

Pashinyan earlier said that he might also meet with the former President and ex-Prime Minister, Serzh Sargsyan, to discuss Karabakh settlement.
