SOCHI. July 31 (Interfax) - The Syrian opposition has warned the government against launching a military operation in Idlib and urged Russia to refrain from supporting any actions of the government army, Ayman al-Asemi of the Syrian opposition delegation at the Sochi talks said.
"As many people know, the threat of the Syrian army's offensive on Idlib has become a problem. I would like to warn, to some extent, because if this war happens, this will bring complexities into the political settlement of the Syrian crisis. We are calling on the Russian Federation to give no support or help to the Syrian national army with regard to this possible offensive operation," al-Asemi said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
