MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Indonesia hopes to receive the first Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet as part of its contract with Russia in October 2018, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Wahid Supriyadi told Interfax.
"We expect to receive the first plane, or maybe two, in October, not in August," Supriyadi said, declining to say over what period of time Jakarta may get the whole batch of these fighter jets.
The ambassador also denied media reports that Indonesia plans to buy another 16 Su-35 planes from Russia.
"I have seen these reports, but today we plan [to buy] only 11 planes," he said.
