ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The award ceremony for winners and medalists of the international competition among mountain units Elbrus Ring 2018 took place at the Center of Mountain Training and Survival in the village of Terskol in Kabardino-Balkaria, the press service for the Southern Military District said.
"Russia's mountain unit has beaten the Chinese team by 1,353 points and has become the winner of the third international competition Elbrus Ring 2018. Russian servicemen took the first place in seven out of 14 special assignments of the competition. Owing to that, the team of the Russian Armed Forces scored 12,222 points and won the team rating. Servicemen of the mountain unit from China were second with 10,869 points and Kazakhstan's team won 'bronze' with 10,837 points," the press service said.
The award ceremony began with the parade of participating teams accompanied by a military orchestra and a guard of honor. Organizers of the contest, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces' department for physical training and sport, greeted participants in the competition. A concert on the occasion of the closing of the competition also took place. In addition to the military orchestra, artistic teams from Kabardino-Balkaria performed in front of participants in the competition.
The competition Elbrus Ring 2018 as part of the International Army Games took place with participation of teams from China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Uzbekistan in the Elbrus region on July 28-August 10, 2018.
