MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Germany had better not speak to Russia from a position of strength but remember the lessons of history, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"As for the remarks... Speaking of Germany in particular: before saying such words, one should still somehow go back to history. And after all that Germany did to our country, I think one should not speak, better not speak out on the subject for another 200 years or so. I won't say anything harsher and ruder, I think you understand me," Shoigu said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel on Saturday.
He had been asked by a journalist to comment on the remark by the German defense minister that Russia should be spoken to from a position of strength.
"As for the talk from a position of strength: again, revisit history. If you don't bother reading yourselves, ask your grandfathers what it's like to speak to Russia from a position of strength. They will probably be able to tell," Shoigu said.
