MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - The situation surrounding the Swiss embassy to Georgia's section representing Russian interests is worsening as a result of the activity of local criminal elements, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Karasin called attention to the recent worsening of the situation around the Swiss embassy to Georgia's section representing Russian interests due to the activity of local criminal elements who are making money on the high demand for Russian visas among Georgian citizens," the ministry said in a statement after Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with the Swiss ambassador in Moscow.
"The atmosphere around the Russian diplomatic office in Tbilisi is in stark contrast with the calm and well-wishing atmosphere around the Georgian office in Moscow," the ministry said.
"Switzerland said it will make sure that the Georgian authorities fix the situation," it said.
