MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko is expected to visit Seoul in October, Kang Seokho, the head of the South Korean National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, said on Tuesday.
"We know that Ms. Matviyenko plans to visit Seoul in October this year," Kang said at a meeting with a Russian Federation Council delegation led by first deputy head of the Foreign Affairs Committee Sergei Kislyak.
Kang said he hopes inter-parliamentary interaction between the two countries becomes more intensive.
Kislyak assured Kang that Russia is interested in developing "normal dialogue with all countries" in order to stabilize the situation in the region.
A number of steps have been taken to achieve "longstanding stabilization," although these steps are so far "fragile in nature," Kislyak said.
