High-level group to meet in Baku in autumn to look into implementation of convention on legal status of Caspian Sea - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov on Tuesday confirmed that a special high-level working group will hold its first meeting under the aegis of the foreign ministers of Caspian littoral states in Baku this fall to address the implementation of the convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea.

"It was agreed to hold the first meeting of a working group in Baku this fall. Presently, the main objective set for this group is preparing an agreement on a method to establish straight baselines," Khalafov told the state news agency Azertac in an interview.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said earlier on Tuesday that it was agreed to hold a working group meeting in Azerbaijan.
