Situation in Syria seeing stable trend toward improvement - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Terrorists in southern Syria have been completely destroyed, and the situation in the country is seeing a stable trend toward improvement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"The situation on the ground in this state is seeing a stable trend toward improvement, particularly owing to the successful actions by the government forces in the south of the country, where hotbeds of terrorism in the Daraa and Quneitra governorates have been completely destroyed with decisive support from the Russian Aerospace Forces," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Wednesday.

"In addition, an operation to evacuate the so-called irreconcilables and their families to the north of Syria has been completed in the Daraa governorate," she said.
