YEREVAN. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, has announced a return to politics.
"Consider me back. The main reason for my comeback is the geopolitical situation. Look at the map, where Armenia is and what countries it is surrounded by," Kocharyan said in an interview with the Armenian TV channel Yerkir Media.
The Armenian government "has no experience and does not realize that the army cannot be discredited, because it is the guarantor of our statehood," he said.
"I do understand this, I've been through this, and that is exactly why I consider it necessary to return to politics," Kocharyan said, without clarifying whether he is going to form a new political force.
