KRASNOYARSK. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The Military Engineering Institute of the Siberian Federal University and the Voronezh Zhukovsky - Gagarin Air Force Academy will demonstrate their joint product at the Army 2018 forum, the Siberian Federal University said in a statement.
"Scientists and engineers will present at the forum the prototype of an unmanned helicopter with an azimuth navigation system for autonomous flying and various regimes of autonomous navigation," the statement said.
The helicopter's hardware provides multi- and uni-positional determination of coordinates of ground targets, i.e. radio sources, on complex terrains, it said.
The hardware can be used in the mountains and urban environments. The radar station can operate for five hours without being recharged and transmit data to 50 kilometers with minimal errors.
Should any part of the power system break down, the algorithm of the helicopter's return to the designated location will be automatically enabled.
