Ukraine-made cruise missiles ready to reinforce Black Sea, Sea of Azov coastal areas - Poroshenko

KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian missiles have successfully passed tests and are ready to protect the country's Black Sea and Sea of Azov coasts, according to President Petro Poroshenko.

"The Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council [NSDC] secretary and the chief of Ukroboronprom have reported to me on the successful launch of a Ukrainian cruise missile. The successful testing of domestically made cruise missiles that can destroy any seaborne or ground targets and provide reliavle protection of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov coasts, defeating an adversary's floating equipment at a distance of up to 300 km, continues," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook on Friday.

The reinforcement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues, Poroshenko said.

The NSDC said earlier on Friday that the Ukrainian cruise missile has passed another round of tests in the southern Odesa region and that the test program has now been fully completed.
