Some 500,000 rubles worth of marked banknotes seized from former Energia deputy head Beloborodov - Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Investigators who searched the home and office of former Energia Corporation Deputy General Director Alexei Beloborodov have seized marked banknotes with a total value nearing 500,000 rubles, the Russian Investigative Committee press service told Interfax.

"While searching the home and office of Energia Corporation Deputy General Director Alexei Beloborodov, investigators found and seized marked banknotes with a total value nearing 500,000. The banknotes were earlier given to Beloborodov's subordinate in a sting operation conducted by officers of the Federal Security Service's P directorate," the press service said.

"About 500,000 rubles, 28,000 euros, and U.S. dollars have been seized from the suspect. Later today, investigators will ask a court to choose a measure of restraint on Beloborodov and his two subordinates," the press service said.
