Organizer of Chechnya attack killed in pursuit of car that ran down policemen in Grozny - source

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - The organizer of a series of attacks on policemen in Chechnya has been killed, an informed source told Interfax on Monday.

"The organizer of the attack on policemen has been identified. He has been eliminated in pursuit of a car that ran down three policemen in Grozny," the source said.

The man was closely linked to an extremist organization, he said.

Five militants left Shali in one car on Monday morning. One of these men blew himself up, remained alive and was hospitalized, he said.

"Preliminary findings indicate that there were three minors among the militants killed," he said.
