Codefendant of Beloborodov in Energia case says repents, will help investigators

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - One of the suspects in the case concerning attempted massive fraud in which the former director of the Energia Corporation, Alexei Beloborodov, is also a suspect has confessed.

"According to the record of [Oleg] Pylnev's interrogation, he admitted his charges in full," Judge Anton Martynenko of Moscow's Babushkinsky District Court read from case materials. The judge is currently considering investigators' motion to order Pylnev's house arrest as a measure of restraint.

According to materials submitted by the investigation, Pylnev held the position of chief anti-corruption specialist in the internal audit service of the corporation's inspections department.

"I have admitted my charges in full. I fully repent and am willing to help the investigation in the future," Pylnev said in court.
