HMEIMIM, Syria. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The Russian military has reported numerous ceasefire violations by the military in Syria's Idlib de-escalation area.
"Instances of attacks in the populated localities of Sanjego, Iqqo, Arafit, Beit Bustan, Sandran (three times), Beit Lukman, al-Safsafa, Qellaz (twice), Dahr Abu Asad (twice), Barisha, Djubb al-Mgara, Buyuk Haqura (twice) in the Latakia governorate, the districts of Makanis al-Duwairi, Halab al-Jadid and the northwestern outskirts of the city of Aleppo, and the populated localities of Suran, Zor al-Mahruk, and Masasna in the Hama governorate were recorded in the past 24 hours," Alexei Tsygankov, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, told reporters on Monday.
The Russian Center has also urged commanders of illegal armed units to give up their armed provocation and embark on the path of peaceful settlement in areas they control, he said.
Former members of illegal armed units in southwestern Syria surrendered a jeep, a minibus, a mortar, ten mortar shells, one large-caliber machine gun, and ammunition of various types and calibers, Tsygankov said.
