Russian Armed Forces start getting Armata tanks - Deputy PM Borisov

KUBINKA (Moscow region). Aug 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have begun receiving Armata state-of-the-art tanks under an earlier signed contract, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov told reporters at the Army 2018 international military-technical forum outside Moscow.

"Indeed, there are [such contracts]. Contracts for more than 100 items have already been signed, and they [Armata tanks] are being delivered to the Armed Forces," Borisov said when asked about contracts for Armata tanks.

The T-14 was designed for engaging the enemy, supporting motorized infantry units on the offensive, and destroying heavily armored targets, fortifications, and soft targets in shelters and in the open. The crew is seated in an armored capsule, which raises its chance to survive the damage done to fuel and ammunition compartments.
