Russia exhibiting some 26,000 items of military goods at Army 2018 forum - Shoigu

KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 100 foreign delegations have arrived at the Army 2018 international military-technical forum, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the exhibition's opening ceremony on Tuesday.

"A total of 102 countries sent their representatives, their delegations to our exhibition. And you can make sure again and again that our doors are open. When friends come to us, we are ready to share everything we have, everything we were able to build in the meantime," Shoigu said.

The forum displays everything the Russian science and industry have created to defend the homeland's borders, the defense ministry said.

"We are exhibiting around 26,000 items of military goods today. Those are equipment, weapons, everything necessary to ensure security at the sea, in the air, on the ground. A total of 1,500 enterprises, which provide the most advanced weapons to the Armed Forces," Shoigu said.

The majority of items exhibited at the forum have been tested at the battlefield during the fight against international terrorism and not only confirmed their characteristics, but also showed that the Russian industry has reached its highest, most advanced level, the defense minister said.
