KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Angola will continue developing their military-technical cooperation, and Luanda is interested in Moscow having stronger positions in the international arena, Adm. Gaspar Rufino, the Angolan secretary of state for defense policy and international cooperation, said on Tuesday.
"Our military-technical cooperation will continue to develop," Rufino said at talks with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.
Angola is not currently "a big country in economic and political terms," Rufino said. "But we are significant in our region. We could also support Russia on some issues in international terms," he said.
"We always express our agreement with many initiatives and decisions put forward by Russia. And we are interested in Russia's getting stronger in order to maintain balance in the world," he said.
