Moscow set to host UN conference on space policy in September

MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - The Russian government has backed the idea of hosting the First United Nations Conference on Space Law and Policy in September 2018.

The government resolution was posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Roscosmos will be the Russian host of the conference and provide logistic and technical support, the resolution said.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered the Russian Foreign Ministry to exchange letters pertaining to the conference on behalf of the government.

There is an agreement to hold the conference in Moscow on September 11-13.

The delegates will discuss legal and political aspects and factors of outer space activity, progressive development of international space law, and some other issues.
