MINSK. Aug 31 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarusian military officials have conducted an inspection in Latvia and watched NATO countries' 2018 Namejs military drills, the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service said.
"A Belarusian inspection group carried out an inspection of the abovementioned district in the territory of Latvia on August 28-29 in line with the provisions of the Vienna Document of 2011 on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures," the press service said.
During the inspection, the Belarusian military officials confirmed that drills were taking place in the district under NATO's Namejs, following notification provided in line with the Vienna Document, it said.
Apart from three Belarusian military officials, the group also included a Russian inspector, the press service said.
Two representatives of the Belarusian Armed Forces also watched the Namejs drills on August 26-27 at Latvia's invitation, it said.
