MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The Minsk Agreements are still the only way to settle the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the MGIMO University on Monday.
"We are ready for compromises in any conflict or crisis the settlement of which involves Russia one way or another: this could be Syria [...] or the Ukrainian settlement process where we played a key role in the elaboration of the Minsk Agreements that are still the only way to settle the crisis in eastern Ukraine. We are ready to help the best we can," Lavrov said.
"Unfortunately, a settlement based on the Minsk Package of Measures does not depend solely on us. I should say that the authorities in Kyiv can hardly adjust their destructive course towards sabotaging and undermining everything the leaders of Russia, Germany, France, and Ukraine agreed upon in February 2015, before the elections in Ukraine," he said.
