Moscow not working on organization of Putin-Trump new meeting - Ushakov

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - No practical efforts are being made to arrange the next meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States President Donald Trump, but one cannot rule out the two leaders will take advantage of their joint attendance in international forums for a meeting, the Kremlin said.

"It is unclear because through our channels this meeting is not being worked on, though we possess the material, and information about those international events, which will take place, say, in the end of this year or next year. I cannot rule out that the two leaders will take advantage of their joint visit to one place or another to hold a separate meeting," Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov told reporters in reply to a question about whether or not the next meeting between the Russian and U.S. leaders is scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit or earlier.

"But this is only in the domain of theoretical contemplations. No practical work is being done on this score, and it is also necessary to specify in what event the U.S. and Russian leaders will take part in person," he added.
