Russia calls for intl inquiry into Zakharchenko murder - Gryzlov

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Russian delegation at a meeting of the Contact Group, which mediates the conflict in eastern Ukraine, proposed that an international inquiry be held into the murder of the leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, Russia's representative in the group told reporters on Wednesday.

"The Russian delegation demanded an international investigation of Alexander Zakharchenko's murder," Boris Gryzlov said.

Russia insists on "this inquiry to be as open and objective as possible, and offered to organize a monitoring and control over the investigation of this crime by the Contact Group, under the OSCE [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe] aegis," Gryzlov said.
