De Mistura in contacts with Syrian opposition should facilitate their separation from terrorists in Idlib

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Moscow sees UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura's role in ensuring the separation from terrorists in Idlib, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"We are urging all who are sharing our assessments on a terrorist threat coming from northeastern Syria to take active additional efforts so that armed oppositionists, whom they are having an impact on, would dissociate from terrorists, which remain our legal goals. We see that UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria De Mistura's role in his contacts with Syrian opposition is in that," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a commentary on the situation, which is evolving around the terrorists' presence in the Syrian city of Idlib, published on the ministry's website.
