MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is considering President Vladimir Putin's possible visit to Japan in 2019, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said.
Ahead of the talks between Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum summit Ushakov surmised that the Japanese side will confirm its invitation to Putin to visit Japan in 2019, specifically in connection with a ceremony to open the cross years of the so-called Russian and Japanese seasons.
"In addition, a G20 summit will be held in Osaka, Japan, and we are preliminarily considering the opportunity for a visit timed to this summit," Ushakov said.
He assumed that the two leaders would discuss this issue at the talks.
